Delhi Development Authority

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is the main body which undertakes the proposed development of matters within its competence. Since its inception in 1957, has been assigned the task of housing, mainly in the form of flats and apartments, through the acquisition of lands, forests and facilitation to take the help of private builders for the growing population of city.

At the same time, the DDA has also been concerned in the development of the various services that are vital to the existence of people in the city, including the installation of potable water, electricity, roads, drainage and sanitation. Thus, the overall progress of the city owes much to the work of the Delhi Development Authority.

The city's population continues to grow exponentially and thus the need for housing is equipped with all basic facilities. The enormous task of providing quality housing affordable for ordinary people has become a major concern for the DDA, which is trying to address with the cooperation of the regional housing authorities and the Metropolitan Development Agency.
