HUDA, Haryana Urban Development Authority was created under the Act Haryana Urban Development Authority in 1977, with the aim of carrying out planned and coordinated development of urban areas and districts in Haryana. Before the creation of Huda, the Urban Estates Department (U.E.D.) which was established in 1962, used to look after the work relating to the planned development of urban areas and operated under the aegis of the Department of Town & Country Planning.
