Today, Greater Noida has becomes one of the fastest developing subcities in National Capital Region. It is an attractive destination for both commercial and residential activities. In addition, new residential Sectors like 1, 2, 3 are also being developed on 500 hectares near the Bisrakh, adjacent Noida. To develop new sectors, Greater Noida authority is acquiring land from villages like Itehda, Parthla Khanjarpur, Sabery and Haibatpur near Noida’s Sector 71 and 76.
Knowledge Park 5 and Ecotech Extension are being developed for institutional and industrial units. To develop this sub-city as a world-class township, GNIDA is keen to launch an institutional hub on 75 acres and an educational hub on 50 acres of land. The high-profile Gautam Budh University has already been started. A 1,483-km Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is also planned, with the aid of Japan, for export-import purposes.
According to Mukul Singhal, CEO of Greater Noida authority, GNIDA is planning to set up its own power plant to provide 24-hour quality power supply. A 315 MW power sub-station is going to be commissioned in March, while construction of a pipeline from Dehra to Greater Noida via upper Ganga canal has almost been done to accord 24×7 water supply. From this pipeline, Greater Noida will get 85 cusecs of water. Keeping pace with established project innovativeness and mission of changing the very face of this smart city, several developers have entered the real estate market here. To increase the commercial space in the city, the authority has allotted several institutional and commercial plots.
Mukul Singhal said the authority is all set to develop Greater Noida Phase 2 as a new integrated township, between NH-24 and NH-91 and the Master Plan for this project has been prepared. Land acquisition is expected to take off soon.
Phase-II is being developed on the basis of population growth. It will also facilitate development of upcoming industries in the city. To develop Phase 2, the proposal to extend border of the city has already been approved.
The quality of infrastructure has been improving by the day, with the result that city has become one of the most sought after destination in NCR. People from Delhi prefer to shift and settle here, as it offers better facilities and lifestyle. Soon, it will also be a hub in employment generation and will provide job opportunities to its residents.
A number of engineering colleges have started in the townships. Apart from educational and software development, the township is also being developed as an industrial hub. A number of MNCs and large domestic manufacturing companies are planning to start operations in the area.
